Dr. Karuna Ganesh: Exploring New Ways to Reprogram Cancer Cells

Dr. Karuna Ganesh is a physician-scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York whose research is focused on one of the most difficult problems in oncology: understanding why cancer cells survive treatment and return.

Ganesh is a medical oncologist and leads the Karuna Ganesh Laboratory, where her team studies metastatic cancer and the biological characteristics that allow tumor cells to adapt, survive and spread. Her work brings together clinical oncology, cancer biology and translational research.

The Cancer Grand Challenges project brings together researchers from institutions in the United States, United Kingdom and Netherlands. The collaboration includes expertise in colorectal cancer, early-onset disease and therapeutic development.
